Beginnings
Please meet Vera, my dear mom. She was the inspiration for this project the year she moved to a retirement community. She LOVED receiving mail and made her first new friends in the mailroom. Mom shared that the winter was a particularly difficult time for older folks. The flurry of excitement enjoyed from Halloween through the winter holidays was wonderful but winter darkness often made the days a bit lonely. Considering how we could help, we embarked on stuffing mailboxes with love on Valentines Day!
The founding group of ladies who passionately work on the project belonged to the SJ Prep Mother's Club in Philadelphia, PA. The support has grown to include family, friends and co-workers of these ladies as well as artists and contributors from across the US.
